On the Run Again


Random pictures of food goods for the past five days.  Green smoothies still reign supreme, but had to shake life up with some avo-toast one morning too!

One particularly stressful day called for dark chocolate too…

A simple salad from our favorite pizza joint in Virginia Beach when we were on the way home from the Eastern Shore.
One of my staff brought me some fresh squash from her garden!  I made an Italian tofu, squash, and bell pepper rice dish, and served in on a salad with an avocado/balsamic dressing.
Today’s green smoothie!  I had a huge watermelon from the farmer’s market over the weekend, and after cutting it up, ran out of room in my containers….so into the freezer it went for my smoothies!


I think the best workout of the past few days was definitely yesterday.  I did an hour on the treadmill (now that the furniture from Christmas has been donated and that room cleared out again!).

It wasn’t all running, but it was much more running than walking.  I figured it’s a gentler surface for my joints than outside, and I’d just go in 10 minute increments, reassess to see if I had any pain, and see what happens!

What happened was an awesome run, no pain, and I felt high as a kite when I was done.  Today I have some mild soreness – but not from RA-related crap, just normal stuff after a longer run.  Love it too!


M came home from camp on Saturday!  He had an amazing month, and has been in a bit of a depressive funk since he got home.  Not sad to be home, but very much missing all the people he was with.  They all apparently got very close, and have definitely been keeping in touch, and plan to continue.

He was also offered a job as a counselor next year!  He’s VERY excited about that too.  He’s been wanting to do that since he was about 12, so I’m very proud of him.  It’ll suck with him being gone all summer, but I’ll worry about that next year.

As soon as M saw us, he started to cry.  It was so cute…that I started to cry….
