Okay, so last Thursday I wrote an email to a manufacturer to request they modify their advertising to correct a mistake declaring their products animal free. Read here! I got a reply today! Here it is!!!
We use a common ingredients listing for all the signs and UPC labels we print for our soaps. All the soap has the same non-animal ingredients but each soap of course does vary with fragrance, color and added ingredients. There are very few soaps that have non-animal products such Shea Butter and Honey (honey), Goats Milk (added goats milk) etc.
Technically your comment is correct but because our customers are concerned about the soap not using tallow we use animal products in our signage. I never thought about the issue you raised and will make a signage change when we run our next batch.
So, I’m excited that they are taking into account something they hadn’t thought of before. I can understand how their company thought they were targeting a specific consumer (those concerned about tallow), and ended up with another (those concerned about animal products). So woo hoo!
