FOOD
Green juices or smoothies are the general order every day now. My smoothie on Tuesday was especially green, so that garnered some interesting comments when I showed up in an early morning meeting with it. From people turning into nutritionists “what do you mean, you don’t put protein powder in there, you should!”, to “I could never drink that”. It’s always a talking point though…
I made a split pea soup for weekday lunches, so that’s been good. Celery, onion, carrot, garlic, kale, and my homemade broth (which is now gone!).
FITNESS
I went for a run before work yesterday, and I swear someone should have called the running fashion police. It was a cold morning (about 35) and I always screw up dressing for the cold. I was like a flashback out of the Rocky movies! Sweatpants, long sleeve turtleneck-type shirt, and a thick hoodie. And a hat and gloves. I didn’t feel like a runner…or at least like I was dressed like one. But I stayed warm, and I guess that’s mostly the point!
LIFE
Not much to tell the past few days. It’s certainly been busy and mostly late nights. The early part of the week are like that. Late meetings, work events, etc. I have one tonight too, but it’s earlier than usual, so I think that I’ll still be home at a relatively reasonable hour!
For now, I’m going to run again this morning, probably look like a reject from an 80′s boxing movie, and then hustle off to work!

LOL – I can picture it now
I actually ran past someone a few weeks ago dressed in one of those brightly colored 80′s wind/track suits. A) I thought she had to be hot, B) talk about wind resistance, C) I had on shorts
I always get really hot when I run so I’ve found that tights and 2 layers on top work as long as I don’t let my hands get too cold. Recently started wearing a pair of knit mittens over my running gloves.
If I am ever seen in public in a wind suit, I hope I get committed!
The mittens over the running gloves sound like a brilliant idea. I find that my fingers still stay numb and cold with my running gloves most of the time.
